I only go wakeboarding about once a year, and am always amazed that I am able to pick up right where I left off. I always try to learn one new trick when I go. Last year I was able to do a butter slide and a spin, but couldn't really hold it going switch foot. Here I am really going switch foot for the first time.
The Anatomy of a Fall
Saturday I went wakeboarding with my sisters on Nacimiento. You can see the entire set here. But you gotta love it when your sisters take pleasure in your failures as much as your successes. Here is a series of me falling while trying to do my first Fakey.
And here is me actually successfully doing a fakey and going switchfoot.
Not bad for someone who only wakeboards once a year I think.
So You Think It's Easy?
So you've been watching all the wakeboarding clips and you might be thinking to yourself... "Well that looks easy enough, I can do that." OK, maybe watching my clips didn't make you think that, but everyone else's probably did. Well, just to make you think twice, here is the final wakeboarding clip. It's the "out takes", and shows all the pain and horror that can happen when you're being pulled on a wakeboard and things just don't go as you planned:
And if you'd like to see all the videos again together, check out the Wakeboarding playlist I put together on YouTube. Everyone ready for spring now?
This One Is Impressive
If you haven't been watching all the wakeboarding clips I've been posting, I fully understand. But if you only watch one, then you should watch this last one of Dustin. Maybe one day I'll be half as good.
It's Positively Nickalicious
That's not my phrase... but I'll use it anyway. Check out the last clip of me wakeboarding:
That's Not Melted Snow... It's a Lake
More in my continuing series of YouTube videos of wakeboarding. Sorry if this bores you. Today's clip features Kandie again. She pops out of the water like nothing. In fact, she practically starts to come out of the water when the boat is just idling. Of course, she probably weighs only 100 lbs soaking wet.
Maybe This Will Melt the Snow
Today's clip features Jen again... kicking ass and taking names:
And if you still need more to warm you up, head on over to Matt's place for some nice warm images of Hawaii.
Never Again Is What You Swore The Time Before...
The Great Blizzard of 2007 is fast approaching... so sit back... relax... and watch some peaceful images of summer set to Depeche Mode. Oh yeah... Sarah is in there too...
Like Watching a Deer Learn to Walk
Ever seen video of a deer soon after being born, as it learns to stand up and walk for the first time? It staggers, stumbles, maybe falls a few times, then finally runs after mom as she walks away. This video is sort of like that, except it's me instead of a deer, and I'm learning to wakeboard instead of walk. But there is still stumbling and plenty of falling.
At least the soundtrack is cool.
This Video Doesn't Do Him Justice
Really... Dustin kicks ass on a wakeboard... and this video doesn't even show half of it. Watch... be in awe... feel the energy of the water.
Temperatures Continue To Rise
And so the video logs will continue to be posted. Today's wakeboarding video features my brother-in-law Shannon. He's a master boat handler... which has it's downside. You end up spending so much time giving everyone else pulls, that you don't get enough for yourself:
Love yah bro!
It's Getting Warmer Outside
And I directly attribute this to my showing videos of summer wakeboarding. So here's another, in an effort to defeat our local groundhog's prediction, and bring winter to an early end. Today's clip is of Kandie. Her husband is the one who put all the effort in to make this great video:
More Wakeboarding Video
Some more reminders of summer as you look outside and still see snow everywhere. This time it's Jen... who you might recall from an earlier post about her and her husband.
Sarah Kicking Ass
Even though I told my sister Sarah I wouldn't put video of her up here... I decided to anyway. She's kicking ass on the board and it deserves to be seen... enjoy:
I Needed a Reminder of Summer
It's snowing outside right now, which is why the DVD that my sister sent me yesterday was such a welcome relief. It's full of about 45 minutes of wakeboarding footage from last Labor Day when I was in California. Here is the first of several clips I'll be sharing over the next few days.
