Monday Music - Coulton Craze Edition
Monday Music
Inspired by this news story last week out of Africa:
Police in Congo have arrested 13 suspected sorcerers accused of using black magic to steal or shrink men's penises after a wave of panic and attempted lynchings triggered by the alleged witchcraft.
I give you this week's Monday Music... Detachable Penis by King Missile (may not be safe for work depending on where you work):

Monday Music
Here's a 90's favorite from Rusted Root called Send Me on My Way. I love pretty much everything about this song from the instrumental composition, to the lyrics.
Have a great week everyone.

Monday Music - Gypsy Jammin
For your listening pleasure... some Gypsy Jazz... courtesy of Django Reinhardt. This one is called Stormy Weather, which I thought was appropriate given the conditions in the area.
Have a great week everyone.
Gypsies Without the Fortune Telling
Lately I have to say that my music horizons have been broadened quite a bit. But the one thing I have issue with still is trying to classify music. For instance, last night I had the pleasure of listening to Avalon Four perform at County Clare. They're a great group, with some great songs... some of which aren't exactly what I'd call politically correct... which are hilarious. So what would you call that type of music? I was told "gypsy jazz". Never in a million years would I have put those two words together to describe music. I have a lot to learn.
Monday Music - Summertime Edition
Even though there is snow on the ground, it is officially spring, and Easter has come and gone. Personally, I'm officially sick of the snow. For the first time this winter, I didn't even feel like getting out on the skis to enjoy it. Maybe it was going out to the Wheel and Sprocket bike sale Saturday... but I'm ready for real spring. So here's the irreplaceable Ella Fitzgerald:

Monday Music - Fusion Edition
It's Linus... singing the classic by The Police... Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic:
Have a great week everyone!
Orchestra Concert Next Weekend
If you're looking for something great to do next weekend (March 8th), think about heading on over to St. Matthews Lutheran Church on 76th Street at 8PM for a performance by the Concord Chamber Orchestra. It's their third this season, and will be featuring a Cello Concerto by the winner of a student competition, as well as selections by Edvard Grieg, and of course, the talents of one local blogger. For full information, you can download this flier.
Monday Music - Evil Edition
Dr. Evil: You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done. Ah, would you remind me what I pay you people for, honestly? Throw me a bone here! What do we have?
Number 2: Harps.
Dr. Evil: Riiiggghhht.
Monday Music
Here's a classic from The Smiths... How Soon is Now?
For bragging rights... This song was used as the theme song for what television show? No Googling allowed.
Monday Music
This isn't exactly new, but it was on my satellite radio recently, and I thought it would make a good song to start out the work week. It's Drive Away, by Gratitude:
Monday Music - 90's Edition
Here is a great one from Seven Mary Three to start off your work week:
Bragging rights to anyone who can name the television show that is referenced by the band's name. Bonus points to anyone who can name the character that is referenced. Please, no Googling.
Winner: Fraley correctly identified "CHiPs" as the television show, but I can't give him credit for the character.
