More Proof That Football Is So Gay

From Agent Bedhead, who took my original post, and added and added and added until there was no doubt left.

Life and Parody Collide

This was a joke... this is not:

The NFL has nixed a church's plans to use a wall projector to show the Colts-Bears Super Bowl game, saying it would violate copyright laws.

NFL officials spotted a promotion of Fall Creek Baptist Church's "Super Bowl Bash" on the church Web site last week and overnighted a letter to the pastor demanding the party be canceled, the church said.
...
But the NFL objected to the church's plans to use a projector to show the game, saying the law limits it to one TV no bigger than 55 inches.
...
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league's long-standing policy is to ban "mass out-of-home viewing" of the Super Bowl. An exception is made for sports bars and other businesses that show televised sports as a part of their everyday operations.

Football is So Gay...

Agent Bedhead is fond of talking about how soccer is so gay:

But now I'm seeing that Nort has evidence that football is just as equally gay:

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

In case you haven't guessed already, I won't be talking about anything serious today.

Blaze Orange...

... the unofficial 3rd color of the Green Bay Packers.

Blaze Orange

Last night I got an invite up to the Packer game against the Jets. Even though I'm a Kansas City Chiefs fan, I never turn down a chance to see a live football game in action. It's always more exciting to see a live game, then watch it on TV. Unfortunately, the Packers stunk up the field, and I nearly froze my toes off, but I still had fun.

Snap!

While I'm soaking my feet in warm water to thaw them, you can click on the pictures to see the full size versions.

Shanna Reminds You To Vote For Me

You know, last season I had a good thing going, and featured a Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader every week on my blog. This year I had forgotten about it, and thought... hey... what better way to remind you to vote for me in the MKE Online Blog of the Week Contest.

Sure, Shanna may not know me personally, nor does she read my blog (as far as I know).  But I'm sure if she did, she'd want you to vote for me.  Right now she works in pediatric charity... which seems to fit perfectly, since voting for me is very charitable, and using this sexy photograph so blatantly is very childish.

But I promise that if I win, I will continue this regular feature.

Football's Big Mistake

What is with having NFL games all the time this season?  Not only are they doing games on Sunday, and two on Monday night, but they've already started with Thursday and now I'm hearing about Friday night games?  I think this is a big mistake.  One of the problems that the NBA and MLB have is strange irregular schedules that you can never remember.  Football is a really tough game too, and having short weeks for some teams , and long weeks later really screws with schedules and makes the season harder.  The double header on Monday night is really stupid.  I'm sorry, but its bad enough staying up late for one game... you think I'm doing two on a Monday night?  As if.

Looks NFL.  Stick to Sunday games, and of course its still alright to feature one on Monday night.  Don't go screwing with a good thing and stretch out the football week.  It just can't be done well.

That Would Be Ex-College Football Star...

... as opposed to current pro football star Maurice Clarett who got arrested today:

Maurice Clarett was charged with carrying a concealed weapon after a highway chase early Wednesday that ended with police using Mace on the former Ohio State running back and finding four loaded guns in his sport utility vehicle, police said.

Officers used Mace to subdue Clarett after a stun gun was ineffective because the former Fiesta Bowl star was wearing a bullet-resistant vest, Sgt. Michael Woods said.

I bet the coaches who were considering drafting him, had he been eligible, breathe a huge sigh of relief every time they see one of these stories.

Did You Know...

... that there is an Official Mascot Hall of Fame?  Not only that, but this year's inductees include the mascots of two of my favorite teams... The KC Wolf of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Bucky of the UW Badgers.  Apparently for this hall of fame, you don't have to be retired for a certain number of years before being inducted.  Congratulations!
