Drinking Right Tonight

You know the drill... Papa's Social Club on Burleigh at 7PM.  And no excuses for you Drinking Liberally folks.  Plenty of us have come over to yours... why don't you share the love and cross over once for us?  This is a social occasion where we can all get together over a common interest... alcohol.  After the morning I've had... Lord knows I need the drink.

Reports From the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy

So without any prior announcement, I decided to crash the grand re-opening of Drinking Liberally in Milwaukee last night.  It was at Sugar Maple in Bay View.  It's a smoke free bar (no cigars for me last night), and everyone was very excited about the idea... and yet ironically... a rather large group of DL attendees kept sneaking outside for a smoke throughout the night.  But anyway, they have a large collection of craft brews, but are a cash only bar.  Good thing I stopped at the ATM before I came out, or I would've been SOL.

Anyway, it was nice to meet some of the liberal bloggers who I read, and put a face to a name, as well as see some bloggers that I know and haven't seen in a while.  It's also important to remind myself that in person, people are nowhere near the caricature that we build up in our heads based on their Internet persona.  And of course, I handed out a ton of Moo cards.

I do have secret details about the Democratic underground and their evil plans, but those will be privately emailed around to the Vast Libertarian Conspiracy mailing list, which means the NSA will be reading it too.  So who all did I run into?  Well... not to sound too much like I'm looking through the magic mirror on Romper Room but...

There was Ken, and Jay, and Capper too... Tom and the wife of Buzz you knew.

Drinking Right... Tonight!

Holy Cow... I didn't even remember that this is the second Tuesday of the month.  You know what that means... it's time for Drinking Right.  Head on over to Papa's Social Club for good drinks and free pizza starting at 7 PM.  You don't have to be a blogger, or even a Conservative (Lord knows I'm not) to have a good time, and talk about politics, the Brewers, or anything else.

I've said this time and time again, that we sometimes get a distorted view of people when our only interaction with them is on the Internet in forums like these.  I've found that no matter who it is, meeting someone face to face has always been a great experience, and well worth it.  Come on out!

And of course, if I've wronged you in any way in the last month, this will be your designated time to complain to me.  Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Drinking Right Tonight

It's the 2nd Tuesday of the Month, which means it's time to gather for good food, good drinks, and great company at Papa's Social Club on 78th and Burleigh.  People begin getting together around 7PM and it will go until whenever.  I'm always amazed that for a group of political junkies, we actually don't talk about politics there nearly as much as people think we do.  So stop on by.  You don't have to be a blogger, and you certainly don't have to be a conservative... after all... I still go.  Fred tells us that the newlyweds might be there, as well as a new blogger... and there might be other surprises in store too...

But only if you show.

If Gluttony Is Your Favorite Sin...

... then head on over to Papa's Social Club tonight for Drinking Right.  Yes, it's a week ahead of schedule, but with Papa's Fat Tuesday celebration, and Super Tuesday, it's a can't miss combination.  So come enjoy lots of free food, good drink, the election, and an opportunity to tell me how I'm wrong in person, all in one convenient location.

Public Drunkenness

Otherwise known as Drinking RightPapa's Social Club, 7PM tonight.  This is your chance to have redress of any grievances you may have with me.  I can only handle it when I have a drink in my hand.

The Weather Outside is Frightful

But the drinks are so delightful.  Tonight is Drinking Right.  If you're not afraid of the white death, head on over to Papa's Social Club.  A little liquor will warm your spirits.

A Crime Against Humanity!

There is no excuse for this!  This is just wrong:

Here's a sobering thought: Hundreds of bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey, some of it almost 100 years old, might be unceremoniously poured down a drain because authorities suspect it was being sold by someone without a license.

Officials seized 2,400 bottles late last month during warehouse raids in Nashville and Lynchburg, the southern Tennessee town where the whiskey is distilled.
...
Tennessee law requires officials to destroy whiskey that cannot be sold legally in the state, such as bottles designed for sale overseas and those with broken seals.

"We'd pour it out," said Danielle Elks, executive director of the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

The estimated value of the liquor is $1 million, possibly driven up by the value of the antique bottles, which range from to half-pints to 3-liter bottles.

One seized bottle dates to 1914, its seal unbroken.

I'll take a moment to pour out a little for my homies tonight.  My good friend Jack doesn't deserve to be treated that way.  Via The Bitch Girls.

Out and About

Tomorrow night is the 2nd Tuesday of the Month, so don't forget about Drinking Right at Papa's Social Club.  I've heard rumors of state representatives potentially making an appearance, so now could be your chance to give them a piece of your mind.  There is also a 50/50 chance that I'll be there to yell at as well.

Then this Wednesday you can head back over to Papa's for a Texas Hold 'Em tournament to benefit the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  The buy-in is a $60 donation, and registration begins at 6 PM.

It's That Time of The Month

No... not that time... I'm not a woman.  But, odds are that I've pissed off enough people with my recent postings that some of you will want to pick some fights with me... so here is your chance.  Head on over to Papa's Social Club at 7PM tonight for your chance at vengeance at Drinking Right.  Just keep in mind that I'm currently a little crippled.  And for those interested... I'll have something smooth with a nice wrapper you can enjoy with me if you're so inclined... after all... my birthday is this month.

And as always... people of all political stripes are welcome.  If they'll let in a Libertarian, they'll let in anyone.

Flickr Friday

OK... this is kinda just calling it in... but I really want to stay in this habit.  I have some pictures up from this month's Drinking Right:

A Thoughtful Conservative

And for some reason, I thought this sign was pretty funny:

Welcome Construction Workers

This is on 76th Street in Wauwatosa, which is closed and completely torn up for utility work.

Drinking Right Dispatches

Not much to say other than it was a small group for Drinking Right last night.  Ya'll missed a great live Jazz Band, and some great conversation where some of us were quite quotable.  But most importantly, you missed a once in a lifetime event... you missed Fred drinking a beer.  And I have proof!

Fred... With a Beer!!!
