Still No Difference Between Obama and McCain

Out of last night's debate, the one point that McCain tried to drive home the hardest was that he was against wealth distribution, while Obama was for it (the whole Joe the PlumberTM narrative).  But isn't McCain's mortgage plan also wealth distribution?  He's going to refinance the mortgages of poorer people who have homes and were irresponsible, at the expense of taxpayers who aren't having mortgage problems who bought homes of a more reasonable price.  It seems to me that he wants to redistribute wealth just as much as Obama, only in a different way.

Once again, I sit here wondering why the two of them didn't have to face each other in the Socialist Party primary, instead of in the main election.

And you say no one's ever said something at DR that made you cringe. You never heard a Republican defend one of their redistribution schemes? Yes, there isn't a lot of difference between many Dem and Rep proposals, are there? And where exactly on Earth is there a place where governments aren't taxing and redistributing? P.S. Galt's Gulch wasn't real.

"And you say no one's ever said something at DR that made you cringe."

That's just disingenuous John. By making me cringe, I was referring to rude, crude, slanderous, racist, sexist, etc. Disagreeing with a political proposal is far from cringe worthy... it is something that should be encouraged in a Democracy.

I've seen "rude, crude, slanderous, racist, sexist, etc." on their blogs and in their comments on blogs. You're saying they're better-behaved in person? Was the person who dropped the 'c' word an exception, or was the whole bunch at DL acting in the same fashion? If "cringe" isn't the right word, what word shall we use to describe those moments when we see someone's hypocrisy and ideological blinders in full detail?
