If you watch courtroom dramas enough, you'll usually encounter a few episodes where a jury seems to come back from deliberation earlier than expected, usually on a Friday. When the defendent says something to the effect of "Wow, that was fast. What does that mean?", his lawyer will usually respond with something along the lines of "It means they had weekend plans they didn't want to cancel."
Congress was supposed to go out of session last Friday so they could start campaigning. My fear is that instead of taking the time to actually create the right legislation to fix this problem, they will simply pass the bill in hand so they can keep "their weekend plans", seeing as how they're already late. The longer this takes, the more likely they are to simply pass something to get it passed.
