<< The Brilliance of Firing Ned Yost Fed Celebrates Constitution Day By Buying Itself an Insurance Company >>
Leading By Example

The Democrats are famous for their desire to use the power of government to enforce equality and charity by the people... because they believe that left to their own devices, people will not willingly be charitable:

Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden released 10 years of tax returns Friday...The Bidens' joint gross income hovered between $215,000 and $320,000 a year during this period...The amount they gave to charity during this period never exceeded one-half of 1% of their annual income. The Bidens never gave more than $995 to charity in any of the tax years, and usually gave much less. (Source)
...
The IRS reports that those who itemize deductions on their income tax returns have claimed, since 1975, that between 1.6 percent and 2.16 percent of their income went to charitable concerns. (Source)

Nor will they treat certain groups equitably... like give women equal pay for equal work:

Barack Obama says he's for equal pay for women, but women working in his Senate office earn an average of $9,000 less than men. By contrast, women in John McCain's Senate office actually earn an average of nearly $2,000 more than men.

Perhaps instead of worrying so much about what and how other people behave, they ought to concetrate on aligning their actions closer to their words first.  You know... as in leading by example.  Is that too much to hope for?

Excellent post. Amazing how the politicians find it so hard to donate their personal wealth voluntarily. Yet, they rush to raise taxes on you and I to finance all kinds of social programs.
