<< Women for Palin... Or Not Sarah Palin - Fighting for Your Money to Go to Alaska >>
Hypocrisy On Parade

There are so many examples of it going on right now, I can't even count them all.  Of course most people are attacking various left wing bloggers and media sources for going after the child of a candidate.  Isn't there some sort of unwritten rule that we leave the kids of candidates alone?  John McCain would never do that after all!  Well... except when he did do it... when he told this joke about Chelsea Clinton at a Republican fundraiser.  I won't repeat the joke here because it is just that stupid, ugly and demeaning, though you can read it by following the link if you need to.

Because nothing says class like insulting the 13 year old daughter (at the time) of a sitting President.  As I've said many times before, Republicans and Democrats are barely any different than each other.  And just like they both stand for big government, they both have no moral high ground to cling to... and that includes John McCain.  Both parties believe the same thing... that when it's "our guy" being insulted it is wrong, cowardly and should be stopped, but when it's "their guy"... well... then there's a good and valid reason for it!

Of course, this in no way justifies the attacks on Sarah Palin's daughters.  But at the same time, Republicans should hardly be patting themselves on the back as being above it all.  They're just as dirty as the rest.

Very large difference you fail to always see Nick.

I don't condone it and would ask McCain to apologize for the remark. As would, I believe, most conservatives.

The left encourages and participates.

I think I read somewhere once where there's actually a gene for hypocrisy.

Nick, very well said.

Fred, you're so full of shit it's ridiculous. Read your own blog for chrisake. Even if it's not you, it's your fellow circle-jerkers. Do you think Republicans at that fundraiser laughed at McCain's joke? How much you wanna bet?

I agree, Nick. Kids should be off limits on both sides of the isle. Calling a young, self-conscious girl "ugly," doesn't really do anything but get some laughs.

Fred doesn't condone it, he only does it himself:

And then he calls other people hypocrites. How ridiculous can one person be?

While I disagree with the use of the phrase "pimping out", given the candidate... I don't find a problem with attacking Chelsea on her merits today. What McCain did was when she was a teenager. However, if Chelsea puts herself on the national stage as an activist today, now that she is an adult, then she bears the responsibility of any scrutiny which follows. That is now her choice, no matter who her parents are.

I agree with what you say, but the pimpin' thing was overboard.
