Why C-Span Sucks

It constantly reminds me of what a waste our government is.  We're in the middle of a potential economic meltdown in the housing sector (caused by the government as usual with its invention of Freddie and Fannie), not to mention an energy crisis thanks to Congress... but right now they're debating the merits of different resolutions congratulating the Hamilton La Crosse team, and the Fresno State baseball team for NCAA championships.  I'm sure there are more congratulatory wastes of time that were debated if I'd watched for a little longer... a search of GovTrack for "NCAA" confirms that.

Since Congress really doesn't have the power to do anything useful with it's time, I suppose it's better that they debate these types of resolutions, rather than do any real damage.  But if this is the sort of thing that Congress sees fit to do, I propose that Congressmen and Senators be made part time positions immediately.

I am extremely shocked. Of all the people in the blogosphere, I would think that Nick Schweitzer would be the LAST person to say that C-SPAN sucks. After all, unless you live in D.C. and can sit in the gallery, how else can one observe the legislature unfiltered? Instead of blaming C-SPAN, Nick should be thankful that it shows our representatives as they really are. No slant, no bias, just a camera and a microphone trained on our government. I thought a libertarian would appreciate that.

Misdirected hostility, Nick!

I agree with Josh a bit--but I do understand your frustration, Nick. You are not upset at the ridiculousness of the topics being debated during this critical time. Ditto.
