I, personally, believe I have the "right' to defend my life, other people's lives AND my property with lethal force.

The law only agrees with me on the "life" part and not always then in every circumstance.

But back to your specific question. Depending on where you live, the law may insist that you attempt to retreat before employing lethal force even in your own home, but I believe in Wisconsin you are within your rights to employ a firearm to defend yourself in your own home (unless the people invading your home are the cops...at which point all bets are off.)

According to the law, you can not use deadly force to defend property. If you feel you or other people are at risk, you can use the necessary force needed to eliminate the threat. In my book, that means if you come into my house in the middle of the night, I would fear that you are there to kill me, so I will bring lead and hellfire your way and kill you first.
