Politically Dangerous Thoughts

A few things to ponder regarding the Democratic primary selection process...

1.  If Hillary beats out Obama in some sort of Super Delegate game, despite the fact that Obama won more pledged delegates, and/or the popular vote, it will cause a Civil War in the party.

2.  If Obama wins the Democratic nomination, but loses the general election, there will be some sort of rioting.

Discuss.

Losing the general election, whether Hillary or Obama, will cause the civil war in the Dem Party. I think Hillary winning on Super Delegates can be blamed on the loss of Michigan and Florida primaries. But the general election, against a Republican after 8 years of GW Bush, will be devastating.

How can a party lose an election against another party with a sitting president that hasn't breached the 40% approval rating in YEARS? That can send shockwaves through that community.

We've always heard absurd assertions that "the people aren't being heard". Those assertions have come from anti-war liberal Democrats that think the Bush administration is somehow stiffling the press when it comes to coverage of the war (notably Sean Penn and George Clooney). Now the situation arises that they have oragnized, have been heard, and still lost must be very confusing.

The fear then becomes, for me, that they see their mistake as not being radical enough. That they use the excuse to become more militant. It isn't difficult to believe that it could evolve into home-grown terrorism.
