Unfortunately, They Won't Catch the Blame

VodkaPundit sums up nicely what the different candidates are planning on doing to "help" our economy.  Of course the real problem is, the economy is always one election cycle off from the President who "caused" it.  Not that I'm suggesting that Presidents can really do all that much to affect the economy, but in so far as they can do something, it's always the next President who gets the blame or the credit when they don't deserve it.

Either way though, the current lot of candidates are both suggesting we do things that historically have proven to be disasters.

That's sadly the base of the mountain of our troubled politics: Candidates think they have to offer an answer to a problem rather than simply be able to explain the problem and strategize ways to alleviate the fallout - and let's face it, for most people recession is a real problem.

But who will vote for the person who says, "This is the way things work, folks, so hang on for about a year and a half, use gov't dole to get a degree or some skills, and when you go back you'll do much better than you would have if nothing had happened."
