Seriously.  It's not just that liberal tax and spend policies would damage our economy.  Apparently, Hillary actively wants a recession, at least if her husband is to be believed.  And since he's actively campaigning for her, I take him at his word in this regard:

Former President Bill Clinton was in Denver, Colorado, stumping for his wife yesterday.

In a long, and interesting speech, he characterized what the U.S. and other industrialized nations need to do to combat global warming this way: "We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions 'cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren."

At a time that the nation is worried about a recession is that really the characterization his wife would want him making? "Slow down our economy"?

Exactly what she'd do to bring about this slow down is unclear.  What is clear, is that she wants the slow down.  I wonder what the unemployed people in this country who she claims to be so worried about think about this idea.

Update:  It would seem that Bill's comments were taken out of context by the ABC Blog (ironic since the major media outlets are supposed to be so much more responsible than the rest of us bloggers), and that Bill's very next statement talked about why slowing down the economy to save the environment was a bad idea.  Thanks for the correction Jay.
