<< Why Bother With the 4th Amendment At All? Paul Beats Thompson... Again >>
Remember When Ronald Reagan Sounded Like Ron Paul?

Was he crazy too?  Or have we simply become so used to big government, with its bureaucracy and destructive nature, that we've forgotten what real freedom is like?  "A government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth."  Via John Washburn.

When Ron Paul comes across that reasonable, with that much common sense, you might be on to something.

Totally O/T: I've been trying to email you with some questions, but am having problems.
Could you send me an email so I can pick your brain? :)

Was that before or after Reagan deployed theater-level nuclear missiles in Europe, re-built the military, landed troops in Lebanon under a UN flag, bombed Libya, enforced the open waters of the Persian Gulf, re-affirmed our commitment to NATO, announced the Strategic Defense Initiative, armed the Contras, armed rebels in Afghanistan, shared intelligence with the British in the Falkland Island War, leaned on Marcos and Pinochet, etc.

Yeah, Reagan used to sound just like Ron Paul.

C'mon Nick. There was a reason Paul ran as a third party candidate in 1988.

I think you're getting to my point quite well Jim. A lot of people seem to be begging for the "next Reagan Candidate", and trying to see which of the current lot fit the bill. But which Reagan? The promise, or the reality? I was merely pointing out the fact that Ron used to sound an awful more like Ron than people want to admit.
