Rudy Unveils ElectionStat to Save Election Hopes

worker A few weeks I received an email advertising the latest edition of City Journal which featured an article by Rudy Giuliani called the Resilient Society which outlined his vision for a Post 9/11 Police State.  I especially enjoyed the picture of the man wielding the sledge hammer which was reminiscent of a Soviet propaganda piece you would have seen in the middle of the Cold War.

It would seem that he thinks that if you take a word, and add "Stat" to the end, it can be the basis for a working plan that will stop all sorts of bad things from happening.  In this article, he proposes no less than 3 new massive federal spending programs: TerrorStat, BorderStat, and ReadyStat.  I'm guessing that this will serve as the basis for ElectionStat which might save his campaign from the dismal failure that it has been so far.

I know that the conventional wisdom is that Rudy will burst in Florida, and that he is just waiting things out, but I think he's lost it already.  Rudy's only weapon in this campaign is his view on the War on Terror, and it's strikingly similar to John McCain.  Currently, McCain is winning all the Terror War voters that Rudy used to depend on.  And since McCain actually played in the early primary states, he's got all the momentum.  It doesn't matter that few delegates have been decided right now.  The media blitz and perception on those early races was so high, that it hurt Rudy by not participating significantly.

Rudy plans on taking on the War on Terror though a massive amount of Federal Spending unprecedented in current times, which he will justify through scare tactics, as 90% of the American population is in danger of death or destruction tomorrow, and that's just from natural disasters.  But, somehow after he's implemented trillions of dollars of new government programs to connect governments in ways never conceived before, he's also going to cut taxes trillions of dollars.

If you thought George Bush was taking too much power for the presidency, and increasing the size of the federal government, then President Giuliani will make him look like a light weight.
