Parental Responsibility

Yes... we all now know that Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn is pregnant.  To be honest, I didn't even know Britney had a sister until today.  What I think is hilarious is that her mother was going to have a book published on parenting, which has now been delayed indefinitely:

The news comes one day after we learned that her mother's book on parenting -- Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World -- has been put on hiatus.

"The book is delayed indefinitely. It's delayed, not canceled," Thomas Nelson, which publishes inspirational books and Bibles, tells the magazine.

Amazingly enough, a book publisher is more responsible than the parent.  That's one mom who shouldn't be giving advice to anyone.  Maybe that will put things in perspective for the Italian Court that ruled that parents can't name their child Friday:

Friday Germano is now Gregory Germano. The change came after an Italian court ordered the 1-year-old boy's parents to rename him because his birth name, Venerdi, was "ridiculous or shameful."
...
"They thought that it recalled the figure of a savage, thus creating a sense of inferiority and failing to guarantee the boy the necessary decorum," the family's lawyer, Paola Rossi, tells the Associated Press.

Officials at city hall are required to report all unusual names to the Italian government. The matter eventually ended up in the appeals court, which upheld the ruling against "Friday" and issued an order renaming the boy "Gregory," after the saint whose feast day fell on the boy's birthday.

Believe me... I've heard worse names.
