At least that might be the future in Wisconsin if this bill is passed:
Reading, 'riting, 'rithmetic and organized labor? The three Rs would be joined by mandatory instruction on collective bargaining and the history of unions in America under a proposal being considered in the Wisconsin Legislature.Labor unions are all for it. School groups aren't.The bill, by Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay, would require every school board to incorporate the history of organized labor and the collective bargaining process into its curriculum. It's appalling how little high school graduates know about unions and labor history, said David Nack with the Wisconsin Labor History Society. A law is needed because current teaching on the subject isn't sufficient, he said.
What's appalling is how some people are willing to interject crap like this into the curriculum to curry political favor. I know... we need an "Organized Labor Month" during school like Black History Month. Of course if we start doing that, then every other political interest group will be scrambling around trying to snatch up the other ten. Could be a bloody free for all. Via The Bitchy Ones.
