An Apology

Dear Mother Nature,

When the first snow storm of the season hit, I complained because it rained right after, creating an icy mix that wasn't worth a damn to ski on.  But now I see the brilliance, because with a nice powder on top, the icy crap serves as a good base.  It was gorgeous skiing today.

Thank you.

Could this be the first time an apology has made its way into the World of Nick?

I hadn't realized you were given to Paganism.

Call me a heathen in you must. But standing in the cold air, with the wind against my face, and nice powder below me... its peaceful. Call it Mother Nature, Gaea, God, or the random collisions of quantum particles... whatever you need to.

You are welcome to come over to my place and chop out "the base" as you call it, from my front walk.

Where do you usually ski?

I cross country ski Marcus. So I go to a lot of the county parks where there is actually decent skiing, sometimes with official trails, and sometimes just cut by people on their own. Lapham Peak also has great cross country, as well as some other trails in the North and South Kettle Moraine Park regions.

Oh yeah, I should have figured you were into
XC skiing. I am particularly fond of downhill skiing.
