Donate Today

Just a friendly reminder that today is the first of two planned mass donation days for the Ron Paul campaign.  The goal is to raise $12 million total by the end of the 4th quarter, but really, the more sooner the better.  So please consider stopping by and donating.  Every dollar gets us closer to liberty.

Or, if you'd like to get more use out of your money, burn it in large bundles in a barrel. At least you'll get some heat and light from it.

Cool. I forgot all about that. I'll have to remind hubby, too. I just watched part of the debate from YouTube last night, the part in which McCain ends up visibly chewing his shoe by the time Paul's done talking. I think the initial question was something about taxes, which McCain turned into an attack on Paul. I loved Paul's comeback though. He's so cute, I just want to bring him home and feed him!

I'm curious what you think of the proposed Kucinich/Paul ticket?

I don't put much stock in that. They have pretty divergent views on too many things to make it work. It would be a sell out on Paul's part. I think the more fascinating ticket being talked about is the Guiliani/Fred Thompson ticket.

Or give it to a starving eCampaign staffer in expensive Northern Virginia. :-)

It doesn't look like they'll meet their goal today. But they threw out this added money bomb only a week or so ago (I think). It takes time for the word to get through all these networks both online and off.

I never thought this Money Bomb would do much. Worse than the lack of notice was the fact that they're competing with another one on Dec. 16th that got the word out earlier, and already has a lot more traction... and has a cool date to compare to... the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

I think he'll make his goal of $12m by the end of this. He's pretty close already. I'm about 50/50 on the use of the dates/events they're using to promote these fundraisers though. I think it's a good idea in many ways, but at the same time, it's providing more reasons for the media to attack them as well. Although I think at this point, the media will attack as much as possible no matter what they're doing.

The date is a clever hook, but even the Paul campaign thinks it could be too late. They want the money now, which makes sense. This is an instance when the uncontrollability hurts. Many of these Paul supporters are political neophytes who care more about expending energy for energy's sake than doing what it takes to get their man elected. It's right up there with another instance of Paul supporters shouting obnoxiously during a Rudy Giuliani rally.
