Childhood Obesity Epidemic Explained

There was a time when I used to think this stuff had to be fake:

In recent weeks, the kids and parents have been meeting at the park after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The energetic youngsters have been running a lap of the three-oval park and play games after school twice a week.

Dad Grant Cohen said they were approached last week by a Glen Eira local laws officer who told them organized groups weren't allowed on the grounds.
...
Glen Eira director of community relations Paul Burke said the by-law banning unauthorized groups from parks had been in place since 2000, and council had stepped up enforcement because of the drought.

So now we're going to have the obesity fighters against the environmentalists.  This ought to be an interesting fight.  Via Nobody's Business.
