Thank you for your recent interest in applying for an opening as "election observer" in the 2008 Presidential Election.  As you might well suspect, there has been a great deal of interest in this position, and we had far more applicants than we had available positions.  Despite the great volume, I want to assure you that we took great care in examining the resumes and work histories of all applicants.  Unfortunately Mr. President, your resume is missing some important work experience that we require before being allowed to be an election observer, and so you did not qualify.  There will be another election in 2012, and if you'd like to apply again then, may I suggest some areas you could work on that might increase your chances.  We're looking for people who believe in:

• One Person, one vote.
• Voting without fear of reprisals.
• Elections determined by the will of the people.
