Good news for those who are considered "overweight"... your incidence of death and disease is actually lower than those who are "healthy" or "optimal":
Overweight was associated with significantly decreased mortality from non-cancer, non-CVD [cardiovascular disease] causes but not associated with cancer or CVD mortality.
It's unclear what this means for me. Whenever a food stuff is considered bad for me, it's been suggested to be banned. Now that it appears that my BMI of 21.8 is "sub-optimal" by this new study, it's unclear whether those same people will insist I eat more and become fatter. Will I be tied down and force fed? Will they steal my bike from me? Oh wait... they can't do that... then how will I lower my carbon footprint? Too many decisions for other people to try to make for me.
