<< Does Scott Adams Read My Blog? The Brilliance of Phil Simms >>
I'm Just Fine Thanks

In the past several weeks now, I've had several people (family, friends and neighbors) all express "concern" about my health.  It's been kind of generic concern along the lines of... "Are you ok?  You're looking thin."  Given that I used to weigh 265 lbs several years ago, and that I now weight 100 lbs less than that, I want to say "thank you".  I do look thin.  That's the point.  But what doesn't seem to register to them is that I'm not an unhealthy thin.  I'm fit.  I'm probably the most fit I've ever been in my life.

I'm not sure if they thought I was starving myself... I'm not.  In fact, I probably take more calories in on a daily basis than they do.  Given the amount of training I do, and how high my metabolism is during the summer triathlon season... if I didn't eat plenty, I would be unhealthy, and there is no way I could compete.  The strangest part, is that none of them are saying "you look thin" in a good way, and I'm not sure what to make of that.  I don't know if it's a societal thing... that somehow we're so used to the population becoming bigger that somehow looking thin and fit is assumed to be sickness.

I'm fit, healthy, full of energy, and for the most part very happy.  Thanks for your concern, but quit asking.  It's weirding me out.
