We're a quarter of the way through the season already, and amazingly enough, playing 500 ball is good enough to put Kansas City in a 3 way tie for first place in the division.  In fact, by the look of things so far, the AFC West may end up being analogous to the NL Central in baseball, where the division winner (Chicago) had a worse record than all the wild card teams.  It's still too early in the season to talk about these things really, but this could end up being the Chiefs saving grace.

So, what's looking up so far?  They're on a streak... two wins in a row, and they haven't lost to a division rival yet.  Sunday at San Diego was a big win.  They were underdogs by more than 10 points going in, losing at half time by 10 points on the road, and came out with a victory.  The shining star of the game was Dwayne Bowe, our rookie wide receiver, who is turning into a major player already.  He had 8 receptions for 164 yards, and 3 touchdowns.  Wow.  On top of that, the Chiefs defense held San Diego scoreless in the second half.  That has been practically unheard of for this team for the last several years.

Next week the Chiefs will be at home against Jacksonville.  That means the Kansas City cheerleaders will be there in full force to root on the team, including 4th year honey Savannah.  She enjoys bike riding on trails (yeah), but despises running with a passion (doh!).  But you gotta love a girl who says her favorite show is Most Extreme Challenge on Spike.  I say things are starting to look up for my beloved Chiefs.
