Why Don't They Learn English?

Yesterday I was running down by the lakefront as I often do, and while I was by the Summerfest grounds, there was a group of older women walking who were speaking Polish to each other. You're in the United States of America! We speak English here! Arrrgggghhh!

You don't know that they haven't learned English just because they chose to speak the home tugue among themselves.

The difference between them and some of our more recent immigrants is that they speak fluent, unaccented English but just chose to converse in their former native language.
