Giro d'Grafton

Last night I headed up to Grafton for the Giro d'Grafton.  It's the first run of a twilight criterium in Grafton, and it was a lot of fun.  I wasn't racing in it.  Instead I watched the pro women and pro men.  I took a ton of pictures, about half of which were good enough to go on Flickr.  You can see the entire set of about 50 here.  Here are some of my favorites.

This was the most difficult shot to get because I had to pan my body as the biker went across in order to get the effect of him being still with the rest of the background moving.

Here is a shot that uses the opposite effect.  A still background with the bikers whirring by.

This is probably my favorite shot from the pro men's race.  This is an early break away of 4 racers, with the rest of the field off in the distance:

And here is the victory shot from the pro women's race.  The shot I took at the end of the men's didn't turn out at all because of the really poor lighting.  Oh well.
