Flickr Friday

I love the kit lens that came with the D40, but I am wishing that I had a lens specific for macro work now.  Of course, when I look at the price for some of them... this is going to be an expensive hobby... I can tell already.  My neighbor, who is also a triathlete, joked with me when I bought my road bike that I would immediately want a new one as soon as I went into transition with it.  It wasn't that it's a bad bike (I love my bike), but rather that you can't help but feel bike envy.  As it turns out, you suffer the same in photography.  You get lens lust.  Anyway, here are some of my latest macro shots.  As always, you can click on any of them for a larger version.

I have more, which you can see in my set dedicated to macro flower shots.

I had to look up and see what a Holga is...

Interesting and certainly fits with your life theme of vintage things. Though I don't know exactly what type of quality you'd get. But you could probably get some interesting effects with it.

It does produce some cool Vignetting. Its interesting how something that a lot of people would take as a downside, actually produces a neat artistic effect too.

Neat huh? And there is no LCD screen on the back that tells you "click now, because this would be cool".

Though to be fair to my DSLR... the LCD doesn't tell me to Click Now... you still have to look through the old fashioned viewfinder because the LCD only shows you the picture after its taken.. I like that better anyway because it gives me a truer view of what the picture will be when looking through the viewfinder. The LCD is nice for afterwards to say "Wow that really sucked, delete it now."
