The United States of Russia

To be honest, I've always felt an uneasiness about the proclivity with which different administrations appoint people to the title of "Czar".  The fact that it's become even more common under George Bush is even more disturbing, and in many respects strikes at the very heart of a Democracy and free society.  Really... just the term sends shivers up my spine.  We don't live in Russia.  And yet, not only do we have a "Drug Czar" (that's been around forever it seems), but now we also have:

Of course, the job of the "War Czar" is also still open if someone would like it.  I talked about that post a few months ago.
