I have over 10 gigabytes worth of music on my trusty MP3 player. It's nice to be able to just set it to play anything randomly and see what comes up. It's also nice to hear a song, and then if I forget the name of it, to be able to look at the display and see what it's called (which is also one of the reasons I'm loving my Sirius satellite radio).
Some of the songs on my MP3 player are what I call "parenthesis songs". That's because the real name of the song is probably something you don't remember... but the song itself has a phrase in it that everyone remembers, and calls it by. The name in parenthesis is usually even on the back of the CD. So that always leads me to wonder whose idea it is to put the parenthesis name in there. If it's the band's idea, then why don't they just name the song what's in the parenthesis in the first place?
Some of my favorite songs are actually parenthesis songs. Here are a handful that I grabbed off my MP3 player, with the name in parenthesis only. Do you know the real names of these songs? No Googling. As people guess them correctly, I'll update the post with the real name and the guesser.
