So it was really warm outside, and it was killing me. At my last client, my desk was buried deep in the building, out of sight of a window. When it was warm and sunny out, I didn't have to see it all the time and be tortured by it. Now I have a desk right next to a window. It's torturous. I had to go for a non-smoke break a few times just to walk around the block.
But what was even worse were my two desk neighbors who kept complaining about how hot it was in the office. That seemed wrong somehow. We're just coming out of a long winter, and it seems wrong to immediately complain about the heat right after winter. Now I don't know about you, but for me, the more someone complains about something, the worse it is psychologically. So in order to counter this effect, I kept talking about how I actually felt a little chilly. I know it sounds silly, but I didn't feel hot at all. My desk neighbors simply thought I was trying to bother them, but I really didn't feel hot.
You can change your feeling simply by changing your thinking... if you stick to it... and really believe it.
