<< Why Is This Getting Attention? It's All For The Troops... >>
"What About Afghanistan?"

Yesterday on my way home from work, I happened to drive by a group of protesters on a street corner protesting the Iraq War.  There were maybe a dozen of them, which may  not seem like a lot, but this was in Sheboygan after all, so how many could you really expect?

I wish I had my camera with me so I could have taken a picture of some of the signs, but all the usual suspects were there... "No Blood For Oil", "Bush Lied, Kids Died", "Support Our Troops By Bringing Them Home", and "What About Afghanistan?"

Wait.  What about Afghanistan?  I read that sign as I drove by, and all sorts of questions immediately popped into my head.  What was this protestor suggesting with that sign?

Does he want to send more troops to Afghanistan and occupy it for a few more years?

Does he want to have more bombers over that country bombing them into the stone age?

Because if not... what does Afghanistan have to do with Iraq?  If you don't want to take the troops in Iraq and send them to Afghanistan (which I have a feeling he doesn't want to do), then it's a pretty dishonest and politically expedient sign to have there.

Maybe you should get your message straight.  But who knows... I could be completely wrong.  Maybe this guy with his Afghanistan sign is really a war mongering,, blood thirsty wolf who enjoys laying with sheep.

Reminds me of the anti-war protests here on the corner of Brady and Farwell. Why don't war protestors ever take to the streets in Waukesha? Isn't having a hippy protest on Brady St. like talking with their hippy friend in their hippy living room?

My suggestion -- point. laugh.
