Many people referred to the last Congress under the Republicans as the "do nothing" Congress, mostly because of the hours they kept. The started their week on Tuesday, and were out by noon on Thursday. However, this new Congress it seems has their own way of doing nothing. Though they claim to be working more hours, it seems that they enjoy "non-binding" resolutions more than anything. First there was the non-binding resolution on the troop surge (being voted on today), and apparently they've also debated a non-binding resolution on climate change.
Can anyone honestly tell me what the point is? I suppose it would minimize the awful impact this Congress could have on the country if all they did was pass non-binding resolutions, so I shouldn't complain. But I have to wonder... when the House is up for full re-election in two years, what will they run on?
