<< I Hate to Give Jim Any Ideas... Wash Your Hands Little Johnny... It's The Law >>
I Propose a Tax on Big Law

Jim Doyle has famously gone after "Big Oil" time and time again, saying that their 10% profit margins are unconscionable.  But if that's true, then I propose we go after an even worse enterprise... lawyers.  I propose a windfall tax on Big LawTM.  After all, lawyer's expenses are practically nil compared to any other industry, and yet they charge hundred's of dollars per hour for their services.  And like "Big Oil", they affect our every day lives.  Every time an lawyer speaks, it's likely to cost us all more money.  It's about time they gave some of it back.  Jim Doyle, a former lawyer and Attorney General, ought to know that better than anyone.

"yet they charge hundred's of dollars per hour"

I propose a tax on superfluous apostrophes. :)

As long as nobody proposes a tax on ellipses... I'll be ok.

I believe that if Democrats, like Doyle, want to attack Big Oil, they should do it the legitmate way. They should encourage and push for alternative energy sources (solar, wind, electric cars, commuter trains, mass transit, etc.) and in turn lower the demand for Big Oil thus lowering the Big Oil profits. So, if the Democrats want to pick on Big Oil, they shouldn't try to cheat and steal the Big Oil profits, and they should act as a competitor and steal the Big Oil's customers.

I propose a Starbucks tax. Do you have any idea how much markup they have on their coffee?

How do they get all the resources to open all those stores? UNFAIR Profits that's how.

All these self-important snooty coffee-heads are being gouged by this ultra liberal Seattle, wiat a minute...

Never mind.

Did I read that correctly, a Starbucks tax? I would be doomed.
