Not long after I got into the office and sat down at my desk, I began to feel the floor shaking over and over again. Had I been in California, I would have ducked under my desk or ran for a doorway.
Then it dawned on me that they were driving piles in the Marquette Interchange. Even after they stopped about 10 minutes later, I continued to feel the rhythmic pounding in my gut for a few minutes after, making me wonder whether it had actually stopped or not.
Now it's back... and is louder... with a definite metallic quality to it. I think that if I were to go to a window and look outside, I would see a 10 story robotic monster lumbering down the street, crushing cars under it's gigantic feet as it walked.
