Doing both will get armed men busting down your door with assault rifles pointed in your face:
Atlanta's Fox 5 reports that a police SWAT team in conjunction with RIAA anti-piracy agents raided DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz recording studio earlier today and arrested both he and fellow Aphilliate Don Cannon on piracy charges. The ramifications of something like this are potentially pretty huge for high profile mixtape DJ’s. The RIAA just disgusts me to the point where I don’t want to ever pay for a retail cd again in my life.
Because obviously bootlegging is so dangerous that we need to allow a bunch of wanna be Marines to dress up in body armor and camo, load up their assault rifles, throw around some flash bang grenades, and play soldier. However, it obviously wasn't so dangerous that they weren't going to allow members of the RIAA, who have absolutely no policing power and no officially recognized rights to arrest or detain anyone, to come along for the ride. Watch the video, and see the guys wearing the jackets have have "RIAA Anti-Piracy Task Force" written across them, in the exact same style as "FBI", as if they're somehow equivolent.
This sort of thing is scary as hell. There seems to be absolutely no crime anymore where police don't think that sending in a fully armed and dangerous SWAT team is justified. The reason for this is simple. Police forces aren't satisfied with allowing courts to be the sole purveyors of justice. The police want to punish people immediately for the perceived crime... presumption of innocence be damned. So they will go into your home or business with a SWAT team, trash the place, and scare the living shit out of you. And God help you if you do something that might look like you're resisting.
I hope you don't have too many outstanding parking tickets. You're next. Via Hit & Run.
