<< Remember When... You Have Got To Be Kidding Me >>
Incredibly Stupid, Or Incredibly Smart?

That's what I have to wonder about the Alderman formerly known as Michael McGee now that he's filing to invalidate many signatures on the recall petition against him:

Milwaukee Ald. Michael McGee on Monday filed a challenge to a recall effort against him, hoping to get enough petition signatures declared invalid to block it.
...
McGee's challenge alleges that hundreds of signatures are from people outside the district and that others - including McGee himself - were misled into signing.

In all, McGee is challenging more than 1,200 of the signatures on various grounds, including a case in which one of the circulators says she misled people signing the petitions.

Plenty of people laughed last week when the news was first announced that not only were there enough signatures gathered, but that McGee's was one of them.  How stupid can he be they cried.  Of course, if his plan the entire time was to challenge those signatures, what better way to prove that people were misled than by pointing to your own signature and saying "Why would I sign my own recall petition unless they lied?"

Because you're an evil genius, that's why.  Now we just have to wait and see if it will actually work.
