<< A Brief Friday Thought Sour Grapes >>
Food Porn

So while my sister has been in Wisconsin, I've gained a lot more exposure to The Food Network.  I've heard of it before, but can't say as I've ever really watched it.  Most cooking shows seem pretty boring to me.  Unless you're really hungry, in which case it's like watching porn.  "Oh yeah... that's it... chop it up real nice.  Saute those onions real hot... with lots of butter."

Of course, every other show on that network seems to feature Rachel Ray.  I've heard of her, and seen her here and there.  Apparently she now has her own talk show.  But to be honest, I don't see what the big deal is over her.  She's sort of got that girl next door thing going on, but a little more trashy attitude.  Maybe that's it.

Then came Everyday Italian with Giada De Laurentiis.  Why isn't she getting all the attention?!  I could eat her all day long... or... her food... right... I could eat her food all day long.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check the TV Guide for local listings.

Does not appeal to me at all... if I want food shows I'll watch channel 10 on a saturday. Because you know, Ming Tsai is hella hotter!

But if the purpose is food prep, America's Test Kitchen can't be beat.

Yeah, nick, makes it easier to say to my girlfriend "ok, lets watch that cooking show."
