Battered Voter Syndrome

Sometimes I think that Republicans are like battered women stuck in an abusive marriage.  I especially find it strange how all these Republican bloggers who keep saying that they're "Conservative not Republican", yet always vote for Republicans.  I hate to break it to you... but if you keep voting for Republicans, then you are one.  No matter how many times they treat you wrong, how many times they break your heart, you keep going back to them.

You keep telling yourself, I'll vote for them again this time, and I know I can make them change.  You talk about how they used to love you, and how you used to share the same dreams, and yet can't cope with the fact that they can now only show you how they love you by treating you like dirt.

So ask yourself... how did your party come to be this way?  How is it possible that these tax and spend Republicans who want to tell you how to live your life got into office if it wasn't with your support?  You voted for them... no matter what they did to you.  I'll leave you with this thought from the end of another favorite movie of mine:

A little revolution, now and then, is a healthy thing.  Don't you think?

When the people who you say you love don't love you back, it's time to leave.
