Music Briefs

Here are some of the latest CDs that are gracing my CD player:

  • Sam's Town by The Killers:  I really liked Hot Fuss, which is why I got this one almost immediately.  This is still a good CD, but not as good as Hot Fuss.  While Hot Fuss had lots of tracks that were great besides what was overplayed on the radio, there are fewer here that are on that same level.
  • Foiled by Blue October:  Absolutely fantastic.  This is the first CD of there's that I've gotten, and almost every track is worth listening too.  Ironically, Hate Me, which is overplayed on the radio is one of my least favorites.
  • Come What(ever) May by Stone Sour:  Stone Sour is one of those groups who has been around a while, but has only recently really come on the scene.  It's fun to know that you've been listening to them for a while and here others talk about them like they're brand new.  This is another great one.
  • Eyes Open by Snow Patrol:  This is my latest acquisition, and is also pretty good.  It's not off the charts great, but still worth the money.  Chasing Cars (the one being overplayed on the radio) is probably the best track on there.  That's always the disappointment.  I enjoy a CD much more when I discover a song that I love which isn't being played a ton.
