So a judge has said it's ok for Northwest's flight attendents to strike:
A federal judge decided Thursday to permit Northwest Airlines Corp. flight attendants to strike the nation's fifth-biggest passenger air carrier, a move that could jeopardize its survival....The flight attendants planned sporadic, unannounced work stoppages next Friday after the court authorized the airline to impose pay and benefit cuts.
And hey... guess which airline I'm taking to California and when? You got it... I'm on a direct flight to LAX on Northwest Friday. I'm really trying not to think about it... and I knock on wood every time I mention the strike. Instead, I'm thinking happier thoughts, like seeing my sisters (Sarah, Karen and Janet), my nephews (Josh, Jake and Brandon), and doing some wake boarding at Nascimento (looks like a dragon doesn't it?).
Update: So it looks like chaos isn't as bad as they're making it out to be:
The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, the union for about 9,200 Northwest workers, has vowed to launch random strikes against Northwest as soon as 9:01 p.m. Friday to protest wage, benefit and other cuts it says are too drastic. The union has made similar threats at several airlines in recent years but has not actually struck a carrier since Alaska Airlines in 1993. Seven flights were affected then.
Well, seeing as how I'll be in California by 9:01 PM, the worst thing that can happen to me is that I'll be "stuck" in California a while longer than I intended. Yeah... that would be terrible wouldn't it?
