Welcome everyone to this week's Carnival of the Badger. Believe it or not, it's been a year since the very first edition, and we're still going strong with 51 editions (because of a one week hiatus), and over 640 submissions. Normally I don't do this, but this week, along with the regular batch of submissions, I've gone into Hunter/Gatherer mode and have found some good posts from across the Cheddarsphere. So sit back, relax, and set aside some time to check out some great posts from around Wisconsin... On with the Carnival!
Tom McMahon has a little side project called 4-Block World. It's amazing how easy it can sometimes be to reduce current events down to its smallest basic facts. He recently did just that with this sketch about some local boxing matches.
Fred at Real Debate Wisconsin is asking why the chicken crossed the road, and has a collection of answers from all sorts of people with wide ranging views. What I want to know is, how did he get on the road in the first place? Shouldn't he be locked away in some chicken coup against his will so some PETA members can protest for him?
Patrick at Badger Blogger has all the details on John Bartlett's tidy profit since he got fired. What's sad is that I don't even make that much when I'm working, and he's made it doing jack squat!
Jenna at Right Off the Shore has collected a series of links offering Mark Green's positions on various issues, and replies from Doyle campaign workers... as opposed to the Governor himself. Jenna is wondering who is actually running for re-election.
Kate at An Ol' Broad's Ramblings is comparing Ted Lamont's victory in Connecticut with a dangerous swarm of bees. Meanwhile, Tee Bee points out someone who is comparing a wasp to a penis flying overhead. Seriously.
Grumps at The Happy Circumstance thinks that anyone referring to the "sucks" remark during the AG debate as childish owes children everywhere an apology. It could have been worse. At least Van Hollen didn't say Bucher swallowed.
Dean at Musings of a Thoughtful Conservative makes a good point on how some people think of Hispanics when it comes to the illegal immigration debate. I'd have to add that it's mostly the fault of the pro-illegal immigrant activists too, because they refuse to draw a distinction between the two. What did they expect?
Meanwhile, you should be heading over to From Where I Sit, where Elliot has been really on the ball lately with lots of great observations. Oh yeah, I may have made some funny quips in response.
Casper at Ask Me Later is back from vacation, and has his latest campaign ad out. Go check it out.
Truly over at Sex in the Mil-town is talking about back up plans. Ummm... but I have have no idea what she's talking about... yeah.
Phelony at The Confidentials is also talking about the latest bout between Homer and Belling. I don't see what all the fuss is about myself. Cat fights are only hot when it's two women going at it.
Don't forget to head over to Leaning Blue, where Belle has shared the first 25 things about herself... and she's promising to go to 100. I'm wondering whether #100 will be an unmasked picture.
And last, but not least, Sean at The American Mind has a culinary roundup of State Fair dishes, with pictures. Mmmm.... cream puffs.
And that's it for this, the one year anniversary of the Carnival of the Badger. I'd like to thank everyone who has participated over the last 12 months, especially those of you who have hosted, many of you more than once. And for those of you who haven't stepped up to the plate yet, we need your help to make this upcoming year stronger than the next. Don't forget... we need more than just your submissions. Take a moment to advertise the carnival every week! If you're interested in finding out more, drop me a line.
