I've long held the theory that one of the worst dogs you can have is a poodle.  I don't mean to malign anyone who actually owns one, but I've yet to met a really good poodle.  Standard Poodles (the large breed) are the worst in my experience... I've almost been bitten twice when they broke out of their respective back yards.  They tend to be more vicious, and definitely more hyper.  They were actually bred as a hunting dog, and their coat facilitates this because its harder to bite through tufted fur.  Don't agree with me?  Then why are more than half of the dogs on Puppy War's Underdog list (least cute dogs), and none of the Top Dogs (most voted for) poodles?
