When Did Civil Liberty Become a Slur?

One of the reasons why I'm getting sick of Michelle Malkin, and many of her ilk is that they use phrases like "civil liberty" and "civil libertarian" as if its a slur.  Just because some folks on the far left are going too far in fighting the current policy in Iraq, and undermining the War on Terror, doesn't mean that all people concerned with protecting civil liberties are somehow aiding and abetting terrorists.  Only fools think that every single issue, especially one as complicated as this one, can be broken down as a black and white issue.

The sad thing is, I often times agree with her in general.  Unfortunately the manner in which she states things, and the lengths she goes to attack those who disagree with her (and the size of the net she casts in her attacks) makes her impossible to read these days.  It's really too bad.
