Warm weather has descended on us in full force, which of course can only mean one thing. Women everywhere are wearing backless shoes. They are the scourge of the office... and it's even worse here today since it's casual Friday. I'm not just talking about flip flops mind you... I'm talking about any shoe that doesn't have a back on it... no matter how attractive and stylish.
All day...
*thwack* *thwack* *thwack*
It's like an ice pick slowly jabbing in my brain.
*thwack* *thwack* *thwack*.
I swear to God, there are some women in the office who walk different when they wear those shoes, making the heel of the shoe slap into their foot harder, just to accentuate the sound for the rest of us... announcing their arrival...
And if I happen to be in part of the building where they don't have carpet, there are the women who wear heels that don't have a back...

To the women who read my blog and who wear those shoes... doesn't the sound bother you when you walk? I once bought a pair of shoes that I noticed squeaked a little when I walked on a certain type of floor. I returned them immediately. It would have driven me insane. Doesn't the constant thwack on your heel... I don't know... hurt your foot eventually? Or has the bottom of your heel become so calloused over the years of constant thwacking, that you've lost all feeling there?
