But that doesn't necessarily mean no to the tax:
The board delayed action on holding an advisory referendum on a 0.25% sales tax for parks, recreation and culture. Supervisors did not act on County Executive Scott Walker's veto of the referendum resolution, instead sending it back to committee. It could come back to the board next month.In a separate vote, supervisors rejected, 11-8, a referendum on a proposed 1% sales tax for parks and transit.
So the board voted no to ask the people whether the sales tax should increase... but that doesn't mean they won't vote for it anyway, without asking the people what they think. Great. I was actually looking forward to telling them to shove it.
