Talk About Disgusting Advertising

I was reading an article this morning on CNN, and on the side there was an advertisement for an American Express Card.  Except, when I first saw the ad, I thought it was for a foot fungus remedy.  Seriously, take a look at the ad!

Those are the most disgusting bare feet I have seen in a long long time.  What is this ad supposed to say about their credit card?  Here are some possible tag lines I'm seeing...

With American Express you can feel free to kick up your feet carefree, no matter what disgusting ailments you have.

With American Express, your interest rate will be so high that you won't be able to afford the prescription foot fungus medication your doctor prescribed.

With the American Express points program, after six months of purchases you will get a free visit to a podiatrist on us.  Just one of the main rewards you get with our card.

Whatever company put together that ad for American Express should be immediately fired.

The ad tells me to "Get Away." No problem.

I think it's supposed to be feet with sand on the bottom.
But it does look like fungus.

I thought the same thing when I first saw it. But I really think it's supposed to be sand (like on the beach).

Even if it is sand... why the hell do I want to be staring at some guy's feet? Actually, in many eastern cultures, showing the bottoms of your feet is extremely offensive. So it's not exactly a great way to endear yourselves to foreign markets.

AMEX is lucky I'm already a customer.
