If I Ever Need Surgery...

I'm going to New York so this guy can work on me:

A Bronx surgeon really gave his all when operating to save an 8-year-old boy's life - right down to his own blood.

Dr. Samuel Weinstein had his rare blood drawn and donated straight to heart patient Francisco Calderon Anthony Fernandez after the hospital ran out.
...
His team had been operating for about eight hours when blood supplies ran out.

"The patient was malnutritioned going into the operation," he said. "He was bleeding a lot, his blood wasn't clotting and supplies were running out.

"I sat down and donated a pint of blood, drank some water and ate a Pop-Tart, and went straight back to work.

Now that's dedication to a patient.  I'd suggest to the makers of Pop Tarts that they make this guy their spokesman too.  Via Ann Althouse.
