I just found out that they've brought in a new intern named Nick at my current client. That brings the total number of Nicks in the department where I work to 3. We're approaching the threshold where they'll have to start calling us by our last names. This happened to me in high school where there were four Nicks in my graduating class alone. You couldn't say "Nick" in a hallway without confusion. For four years I was referred to as "Schweitz", as apparently adding the extra "er" was either too hard, or didn't sound cool enough. I was just talking to the "New Nick" (which will probably be his name for a while), and he confirmed this also happened to him in high school. Nick sure is a popular name.
It's kind of like when you were a kid, and you called out "Mom" in the grocery store only to have a dozen women turn around and look at you... and you realized you needed to know what your mom's first name was.
