We Need More Trials... Not One Less
I'm with Elliot on this one. All the conservative commentary around the Jensen trial can be summed up as this. "Yes what he did was wrong, but everyone else is doing it, so they should have gone easier on the guy." Everyone seems to agree that he broke the law. Yet everyone seems to think that he shouldn't have gotten the punishment he did because this sort of thing goes on everywhere.

Why is nobody suggesting that he should in fact be punished exactly as he was, because that's what is prescribed by the law, and that we should then go after everyone else too in exactly the same way? You have to start somewhere after all. Jensen's fate is his own making, and justice was in fact served. What will be a miscarriage is if he's the only one this happens to.
