We're Under Attack!
For the past two hours, there has been a thump about once a second that shakes the floor of where I work. This is no tiny building either... its a pretty good sized office building, and I sit in the middle of the 4th floor. I've been imagining a 200 foot tall robotic monster rumbling down the street coming towards our building, like something out of a bad Japanese movie you'd see on MST3K.

A few minutes ago, out of morbid curiosity I walked to one of the windows. With every step I took towards the windows, the sounds got louder, and louder. Finally, when I got to the windows (which is where all the managers sit), I could hear piles being driven into the ground as part of the Marquette Interchange construction.

I was a little disappointed when I didn't see a huge robotic monster raining terror across downtown. On the other hand, I was quite relieved not to be a manager. Normally the cubes next to windows are quite coveted. In this case, it will be hell for those guys until the construction is over.
